Presentation
In his artistic approach, Kunsch seeks to highlight the relationship to space as well as to tell a story originating from his motives. One of his primary criteria is to humanize his photographs. This allows him to create staging, with the purpose to recall through specific actions, props and scenography, the functionality of a building, the aesthetics of a landscape or of what it is composed. Further he likes to play with volumes, shadow and light, providing his subjects with new dynamic – the viewer is left to discover and interpret his subjects from new or unusual points of view (such as in his recent series Skyscapes, Shorelines and Natural Barcodes). He aims to trigger emotion, questioning, admiration and to share an aesthetic pleasure with minimal manipulation of the initial photograph itself in order to retain the direct visual impressions felt during the photo shooting.
Benoît Kunsch exhibits nationwide and consistently for the past two years as well as virtually on Kunstmatrix and artnet. He is continuously perfecting his practice by following trainings and coaching in Germany, Switzerland, and Spain.
