A challenge, photographing the cathedrals of France with the camera while Notre Dame de Paris is being rebuilt.

The tragedy of the fire of Notre Dame de Paris stunned the whole world, Sébastien Béghin photographer, was too.
It was a year later, a few days after the fire at Nantes Cathedral that the idea of the Cathedrals Project was born in Sébastien's head.

Accustomed to film photography, landscapes and monuments since his debut in 2000, he has always been passionate about these old devices and processes and brings them to life.
His attraction to history and the priceless French heritage have always run through his photographs.
This time, traveling the roads of France, in order to document, keep track of this unique heritage in the world will be his new artistic thread. The history of photography experienced a similar idea in 1851 during the Heliographic mission. With the same method, he could enrich it in 2020.
Our President Emmanuel Macron has launched a challenge for France, to rebuild Notre Dame de Paris by 2024.

Sébastien Béghin has set himself the challenge of photographing the cathedrals of France at the Chamber and taking his last shot on the island of the city.
A year after the first photo of the developed project, Sébastien traveled through 27 cathedrals in France, more or less known, some of which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
