Biography
Paul K is a Belgian photographer. Initially he did reporting on industrial fields. Eventually, Paul K turned towards artistic photography in which his main focus is to process light.
In order to capture this old-fashioned and dated light, Paul K takes pictures of vintage car collections. The latter become his protagonists instead of the owner. The cars are photographed in offset locations, which portray improbable scenes.
Paul K's photos are all staged, he arranges cars and the owners like a stage. Paul K's photographic research remains the same in all photos: he drives light into a corner, wanting to test its limits to obtain certain elegance.
Always on the look out for a new image, renewing is key for Paul K's creation. The artist wants to surprise his spectators through his photos and portray the unexpected.
