Biography
Born in Paris in 1942, Gilles Sacksick began to draw from an early age, then to frequent the Louvre assiduously, with no other emulation than that of his own gaze on masters as different as Rubens and Vermeer, Rembrandt and Delacroix, whom he then loves without distinction of gender, school or century, with equal veneration.
Gilles Sacksick was awarded the Grand Prix de Portrait Paul-Louis Weiller (Institut de France) in 1979, and was a resident of the Casa Vélasquez (Madrid) from 1979 to 1981.
He exhibited in New York, London, Tokyo, and he exhibits every year in Paris and in the Lot.
