Biography
Gilles Bailac is a French artist who currently lives in Portugal.
He got trained in the field, by frequenting the natural and wild museums and theaters, mentally photographing everything that he found aesthetic. Wanting to leave a mark on the observer and to create a visual impression, he paints mainly landscapes and abstract subjects such as the open doors to a dreamy world, always in a quick, light and spontaneous style.
Gilles Bailac does not loses time on the details, he gives at first more emphasis to improvisation, playing with the material and with some of his favorite colors like blue which he sees like a magic color which according to him soothes and makes us dream peacefully. Bright red, green, yellow, white and black are part of his palette of colors too.
Nicolas de Stael, Mark Rothko, Paul Klee, Claude Monet and Vicent Van gogh are painters whose work fascinates him and who have influenced his work and his artistic research.
