Toqué Frères

The Toqué Frères are two French brothers from a family of artists. Their work consists of embellishing various places through the use of colour and positive messages. Without trying to save the world, they humbly try to reveal the beauty intrinsic to life itself. A coloured wall in a grey neighbourhood in a good thing for the neck. A strong and positive parable that we can use to turn a bad day into a bad day.

The principle of his work is simple. So simple, that it is radically original: to sow happiness and to promote goodness with simple and direct messages that act as a base in the heart of those who arrive. These messages that awaken reactions and positive sensations contrast with the majority of contemporary artistic production, where social commentary, criticism, cynicism or a conceptualism devoid of emotion reigns. More than in social denunciation, the Toqué Frères operate in the field of social action: their work aims to create a strong, instantaneous and lasting effect.

The Toqué Freres paint in the streets of Paris as well as in the windows of the most diverse clients and boutiques; brands like Hérmès or institutions like councils compete with them to illuminate their campaigns. In this exhibition, they will present a series of textual works that are a transposition of their street art fish: if they can illuminate the life of the passers-by in Paris, why not also illuminate our daily life with works in mobile supports that can be seen in a museum or at home?
