Presentation
Born in France in 1993, Elisabeth Gomes Barradas is of Cape Verdean origin. Coming from the "Generation 2.0", his influences are multiple and range from the firefighter art of the 19th century to the R'n'B clips of the 2000s, passing through underground cultures.
It was during her childhood, by watching clips of Aaliyah, Beyoncé, Ashanti or Alicia Keys over and over, that Elisabeth Gomes Barradas shaped her imagination. She is fascinated by the "black culture" and the "glitter" of the 2000s. Passionate about R'n'B, this musical style is part of her life and artistic practice.
Elisabeth Gomes Barradas has exhibited at the Vanessa Quang Gallery, at the Rencontres de la Photographie d'Arles for Photoslam in 2021, and soon at Centquatre-Paris for Circulation(s), Festival of Young European Photography.
