Sandra Richard

Sandra Richard lives and works in Paris. After being awarded the First Prize in Plastic Arts at the General High School Competition (Ministry of National Education), in 2012 she graduated with a DNSEP from the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Le Mans. She also trained in electroacoustic composition with the composer Gino Favotti. In 2014, she won the Pierre David Weill Drawing Prize from the Académie des Beaux-Arts (Institut de France) with special mention from the Jury. His work was presented in various structures: at the Center Pompidou the occasion of the exhibition of Fred Forest (2017), the Nuit Blanche Paris (2011), at the Center d'art “Silicone" Bordeaux, on the wall facade of the MAC VAL (2012) or the Vuitton Foundation (2016). Seeking to "make time think", this could be summed up in the work of Sandra Richard, who tries to make it visible, even palpable, through plastic gestures repeated at length. It also questions the confinement, constraint and more broadly the violence of oppositions. His creations think about the absence of presence and the presence of absence. All of his work is developed around antithetical concepts in an essentially white universe. More and more attention is paid to the materiality of the supports which generates a haptic dimension, where the design is revealed by subtle play of light.
