Biography
Nicolas Cazalé is a French film and television artist and actor born April 24, 1977 in Pau. For more than 20 years, Nicolas Cazalé has worked in the film industry, but it was nevertheless by discovering graphic art at the age of 25 that he finally found a point of balance in artistic creation. Bored between two shoots, he discovers in his brother's studio what a blank canvas and a palette of paintings can bring him as a space for creation. “The desire of others is fundamental to expressing oneself in cinema. You only work when someone wants to work with you. Painting, on the contrary, offers me total freedom of action that does not suffer from any constraint. I paint what I want, when I want, where I want ”. Using all forms of technique (collage, spray, stencil, felt ...) on all kinds of media, he develops a street art-inspired universe conducive to interpretations, where the immense meets the tiny, in a letting go that never stops widening. In 2015, an exhibition hall called L'Atalante in Bayonne offered him the opportunity to show his works to the general public by organizing his first personal exhibition.
