Date of birth 1959, Tbilisi, Georgia

Shvelidze studied fine arts at Tbilisi State Academy of Art, and began her career as an independent artist in the Perestroika period. In 1987-1991 Shvelidze actively cooperated with the artist collectives “10th Floor" and “Marjanishvili Studio" and participated in different festivals and group shows organized in Georgia and abroad. Up to now, the artist has held more than 50 solo exhibitions and group shows. The solo shows at the Museum of Fine Arts of Georgia in 1994 and the Museum of Modern Art Baku in 2016, series of shows Sit Down organized at the Old Gallery (2000-2003). Among with active artistic practice, for several years she was worked as an invited professor of painting at Tbilisi State Academy of Art and at Visual Art, Architecture & Design School (VAADS) in Free University in Tbilisi. In 2007 Shvelidze established “The Association for the Support of Artists" and the “The Art Studio for Everyone".
