Biography
BLANKA WASOWICZ
Lives and works in the Netherlands. Born in Poland of a Warsaw family of artist painters. Graduated at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam (1973-1976) She has been teaching at the AKI-ArtEZ Academie of Fine Arts, Enschede from 1979 till now. Her work is in numerous international collections including Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam), Bibliotheque National (Paris), San Francisco Art Museum and Houston Museum of Modern Art.
A Polish spirit, dosis of nostalgia, female power symbols (Eva, Venus and Mary)and photographic craft are just some of the ingredients for my work.
