Sorin Dumitrescu Mihaesti

Sorin Dumitrescu Mihaesti is a contemporary painter born in 1961 in Romania. He has a figurative style that belongs the style of contemporary Romanian fine arts. His style is influenced by abstraction, this explains the attention given to the chromatic reverberation on his canvases. Through his tormented, melancholic and exalted paintings, the artist explores the kaleidoscope of human feelings creating pieces that are profoundly intimate. Each composition is the opportunity to explore, an inner Journey, where emotion is in distress, sometimes deeply silent, sometimes euphoric or tinged with nostalgia. "My art does not aim to represent life's reality, since all the representation of a tangible reality are just illusions in my opinion. My paintings come from the inside. I paint revelations and none of them look like each other", says the artist.

Sorin Dumitrescu Mihaesti's works have been part of thirty solo exhibitions from the beginning of his artistic career in 1989, and of some group exhibitions in Romania, France, Germany, Austria, London and Denmark.
