Biography
Penny Warden began to paint at a very early age and was highly commended for her work by the Royal Drawing Society when only 12 years old. Subsequently however, despite strong protests from her art teachers at the time she did not continue in her creative studies after leaving school, choosing instead to pursue various careers in the city of London. Despite being employed full time and raising two children, she continued to paint, longing to do so every day and eventually in 2001, gave in to her heart, choosing to attend Art College and become a full time artist.
As a result of her inclusion in the incredibly successful 2004 group exhibition 'Presence' alongside the likes of Maggie Hambling, Bill Viola and Tracey Emin, Penny has seen her public reputation and popularity grow consistently year on year. Since then, her work has appeared on display in numerous high profile locations, including Oxford University, The Park Lane Hotel and The Private Royal Lounge in Heathrow's Terminal 5. Her work also features in a significant teaching resource by Cambridge University.
Now a renowned artist, known worldwide for her numerous significant public commissions and unique, expressive style, Penny is a regular on international BBC television and radio programmes, as well as appearing in countless national magazines and publications.
