Biography
Eric Carpenter (1909-1976) was another of Clarence Bull's assistants. He joined the MGM portrait gallery in the 1940s, when Bull began to devote more time to managing the photography department. Carpenter excelled particularly at photographing the young actresses who rose to fame in the 1940s: Judy Garland, Ingrid Bergman, Ava Gardner, and Donna Reed. After the studio gallery closed in the 1960s, he continued to work as a set photographer.
