Presentation
Dan Barichasse was born in 1949 in Casablanca, Morocco. He lives and works in Paris. After a Masters in Law, he got interested in history and the theories of art, especially Asian art. He decided to turn towards painting in 1976 and readily immersed himself in abstraction, which he qualifies as "true blue".
Initially minimalist and formal, his painting evolves and takes shape. Gradually the themes of memory and time, creation and engendering are formed in cycles which constantly change his work The series such as « Au commencement », « Passages », « Figures aux sources », « Déluge » illustrate this period well. A language close to poetry.
His work stands out through smooth expression. It touches the mineral, vegetable, animal and human. His work constantly questions the process of mutation of the matter that composes, decomposes and recomposes it, until the reduced state of dust, going to the genesis of forms, paring down reality.
His art work has been bought by the Fond National d'Art Contemporain, Collections in Paris, solo and group exhibitions in France, abroad especially Germany, Spain and Quebec.
