Rocio Villanueva

Rocio Villanueva is an Italian-Guatemalan photographer and artist, who resides in Guatemala. A self-taught, who uses digital photography as her canvas and intervention through Photoshop as her tools for creation. Her creative process begins beyond the computer. It starts as a paper sketch that takes shape through different elements, time, places and characters. Her images represent parallel worlds with the use of light and shadow, color and textures that create a different vision of nonexistent places with a painterly look.

She has participated in group exhibitions in Guatemala City, Rome and Palm Beach. Winner of the call of Mujeres Fotógrafas Latinoamericanas of the Visor Magazine, Mexico in conceptual photography 2017.
