Maurice Kummer

Maurice Tgr Kummer has a Dutch mother and an Austrian father. He graduated Language and Culture Studies cum laude and was a writer for years. Countless poems, short stories, some scientific work and four novels by his hand were published.

Later he switched to storytelling by visual representation.

He developed his painting technique and his recognizable style by himself. Kummer's acrylic paintings are marked by adventurous topics, a very neat and graphical style, and by a challenging use of colours.

The personality and life of the models that he cooperates with inpire Kummer to transform visual reality into art. In a way his works portray their souls. He was, is and always will be a storyteller.

Lately Kummer also makes sculptures, out of wood, shell, stone and bone. As you will notice, this work is less figurative and more personal.
