Artistes Photographes
Un photographe est une personne réalisant une image du monde à l'aide d'un appareil photo. A l'heure où tout le monde fait des photographies avec son smartphone, il faut bien distinguer de cette masse créant un flux d'image constant des artistes photographes qui ont l'ambition de créer une œuvre singulière.
Ainsi nous considérons comme une photographie artistique ou plastique, une œuvre résultant de la démarche d'un artiste. La photographie d'art doit être une œuvre originale reconnue par un artiste qui en reconnaît la paternité en y apposant sa signature. La notion d'œuvre originale est également liée au concept d'édition limitée.
Toute la technique photographique repose sur deux fondements, tout d'abord la capacité à capturer une image grâce à un appareil et ensuite la mise en place d'un dispositif permettant de fixer cette image sur un support pour qu'elle soit visible. Pour rendre possible ces éléments il a fallu de nombreux développements techniques. La première photographie de l'histoire date de 1826, on la doit au français Nicéphore Niépce. Cette photographie représente une partie de sa maison, il aura fallu dix heures de temps de pose pour la réaliser. Puis vient en 1838 la première photographie représentant des personnes, il s'agit d'une image du Pont Neuf à Paris sur laquelle on distingue deux individus. Cette photographie est l'œuvre d'un ancien élève de Nicéphore Niépce : Louis Jacques Mandé Daguerre. Il donnera son nom à une nouvelle technique qui consiste à fixer une image sans négatif sur une surface d'argent : le daguerréotype.
Ensuite l'évolution majeure est l'invention du négatif qui permet la diffusion de la photographie puis vient au début du XXème siècle la photo couleur. On peut regrouper toutes ces techniques dans la dénomination de photographie argentique qui a régné sur la photographie moderne avant l'apparition de la photographie numérique. On remplace alors l'image révélée à l'aide de produits chimiques par un fichier numérique. La photographie numérique est un bouleversement dans l'histoire de la photographie. Les photographes peuvent voir en direct sur un écran l'image qu'ils viennent de saisir et donc recommencer encore et encore les prises de vues. Ensuite, le numérique offre une possibilité infinie de retouches informatiques.
La photographie est souvent classée en différents groupes : la photographie de mode, la photographie de nue, la photographie conceptuelle, la photographie couleur, la photographie en noir et blanc, la photographie de street art etc.
Parmi les plus grands photographes de l'histoire, on cite souvent : Robert Mapplethorpe, Li Wei, Bert Stern, Robert Doisneau, Henri Cartier Bresson, Vivian Maier, Philippe Ramette, Bernard Pras, Steve McCurry, Richard Avedon, David LaChapelle, Annie Leibovitz, Helmut Newton ou encore Martin Parr.
