Born in 1936, Jörg Hermle is a German artist. He lives and works in Paris.
Right from his childhood, Jörg Hermle has been painting. He did an apprenticeship in carpentry and woodworking in Eberbach, then wall painting and lettering in Heidelberg. Finally, he joined the Decorative Art School of Darmstadt and the Fine Arts School in Berlin.
Jörg Hermle settled down in Paris in 1961. He found a job in an advertising agency and painted during his free time. The artist has a genuine interest for ancient techniques. 1980 onwards, he taught drawing and painting at the Sorbonne University. This teaching experience led him to explore the simultaneous use of subdued colors and a mix of oil and resin. This technique allowed him to accentuate the chiaroscuro effect as much as possible.
