Biography
RANDY PEYTON (1958 - ): Randy Peyton is an American painter from San Antonio, Texas, known for his soft, realistic landscapes and impressionistic depictions of the Texas Hill Country and international destinations. A native Texan, he began painting the land around him at the age of twelve, inspired by the wildflowers and sweeping countryside near the Hill Country. He developed his artistic skills independently, gradually refining his approach to landscape painting over two decades. In 1981, Peyton returned to San Antonio to pursue painting professionally, and his early solo exhibition was a success, with his works selling out quickly. His travels to France, Spain, Italy, and Mexico broadened his subject matter, inspiring paintings of European architecture, city streets, and Mediterranean scenery. Peyton works with a varied palette ranging from earthy hues to jewel tones, emphasizing light, shadow, and atmosphere. His style combines soft realism with touches of Impressionism, and his subjects include landscapes, architecture, and figures. He is particularly recognized for his depictions of Texas bluebonnets in bloom, a recurring theme that reflects his enduring connection to his native state.
