Description
Hélène Deghilage is a political and economic painter. It questions our time and challenges with the texts of economists. contemporary but also historical. This quote from Karl POLANYI (1886-1964) from his book "The Great Transformation" (1944)
Presentation
Hélène Deghilage is a painter in the Lille region.
It renews the genre of "historical" figurative painting which is so important at this time when everything is in motion. The precipitous evaporation of photographs and social media posts illustrates this while painting fixes the trials of history in time.
Hélène Deghilage defends the condition of migrants with perseverance by offering them both asylum and by establishing herself as their spokesperson. Their flesh and muscle bodies come to life under his brush, leaving a poignant testimony to the human condition in the 21st century.
