Amour Femme, 2024

Eghna

This work depicts a woman fragmented into geometric and flat shapes, reminiscent of Picasso's signature style. Eghnā uses bright, saturated colors typical of pop art, such as vibrant pink, bright yellow, electric blue, and bold red, to create a striking contrast between the different parts of the woman's face and body. The face is broken down into several simultaneous perspectives, with asymmetrical eyes, a nose in profile, and a mouth seen from the front, creating a dynamic distortion effect.

The background of the canvas is a repeating pattern of abstract shapes in fluorescent colours, highlighting the influence of pop art in the work. Eghnā plays with the textures of the acrylic, adding depth to some areas while leaving others smoother, for a visual effect that is both vibrant and enigmatic. The work captures the essence of femininity while reinterpreting it through a modern prism, inviting reflection on the complexity of identity and image in a consumer society.

This bold blend of cubism and pop art creates a visual and symbolic tension, echoing themes of fragmented identity and multiple points of view.
