Description
This captivating artwork features an imagined sea creature in a stylized ocean. The bright turquoise background is interspersed with undulating yellow patterns, evoking ocean currents. The central creature, dominated by yellow and orange tones, is distinguished by its prominent red eyes, crowned with long black eyelashes, which give it an expression that is both curious and comical. Its eight tentacle-like limbs extend dynamically, suggesting movement. The surrounding gray fish, with their simplistic yet expressive features, add a playful dimension to the composition. The graphic style, with its thick black outlines and bright colors, recalls a cartoon-like aesthetic, accentuating the whimsical aspect of the work. Signed in the right corner, this creation manifests a bold and imaginative singularity, captivating the eye with its liveliness and originality.
Presentation
Born October 22, 1946 in Santiago, Chile, this pigeon has lived for twenty years in the south of France. Party of Santiago following the military coup of 1973, he first lived in several Latin countries US before coming to nest on the Provençal lands. As a graphic designer, he worked in the Argentine, Mexican and Chilean media who fought for freedom of expression and the end of dictatorships; today as an artist, he kept the footprints of its origins and paints, sculpts and makes installations with materials picked up here and there.
Through a free illustration, color, material and profusion, he deposits on various substrates (wood, canvas, cardboard, plexiglass, varied recycling equipment ) images that he caught on the fly, during his travel and contact with disabilities and other artists. Gleaner inveterate, it also fills with humor and poetry devious objects or blank media while pointing his brushes and pencils on the contradictions of our globalized world.
