Description
AAA3757
The oil painting on canvas on cardboard, titled "House Near the Pond", captures a secluded rural landscape, where nature and human habitation exist in perfect harmony. The artist employs a thick impasto technique and expressive brushstrokes to create a richly textured surface that enhances the depth and natural beauty of the scene. The composition draws the viewer's eye toward a small house with a red roof, perched on a gentle hill, overlooking the calm waters of a pond below. The foreground is filled with dense greenery, painted in deep shades of green and yellow, reflecting the warmth of sunlight filtering through the foliage. The brushwork is bold and rough, giving the impression of wild, untamed nature, with overgrown grasses and shrubs covering the slope. The house itself, with its simple structure and earthy tones, blends naturally into the surroundings, its red roof providing a striking contrast against the lush landscape.A narrow, textured pathway leads down toward the pond, guiding the eye along the contours of the hill. The artist's use of light and shadow creates a sense of depth, making the terrain appear uneven and rugged, as if shaped by time and weather. The pond at the bottom, painted in dark greens and browns with subtle reflections, adds a sense of stillness to the composition, reinforcing the peaceful and secluded atmosphere. The background consists of a dense forest, with leaves and branches forming a protective canopy over the house. The trees are painted with a mix of greens, browns, and muted blues, creating an impression of dappled light and shadow. The sky, barely visible through the thick foliage, suggests an overcast or late afternoon setting, adding to the painting's tranquil mood.Through "House Near the Pond", the artist conveys a sense of solitude, warmth, and the quiet beauty of life away from the noise of modern civilization. The house, nestled among the trees, represents a retreat into nature, a place of comfort and simplicity. The vibrant yet natural color palette evokes a feeling of nostalgia, inviting the viewer to imagine a peaceful existence in such a setting. The painting is a celebration of rural serenity, where time slows down, and the beauty of the landscape becomes the only thing that matters.

Works by Boris Serdyuk are held in museums in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, European countries, the USA, Israel, and other countries.
In 2018, the artist entered the global art space of the creative platform in New York, where seven of his works were included in the catalog "Painting & Graphics."
Currently lives and works in Kremenchuk, Poltava Region.
Took his first steps in the world of visual arts within the walls of his local school, then studied at Yuriev-Polsky Pedagogical School. After graduation, he returned to his homeland and started working as a drawing and painting teacher.
Later, he realized that for an artist, creative freedom is essential. Thus, after seventeen years of teaching, he left the profession to focus on his creative work. The artist is content to have the opportunity to engage in his beloved craft, which he considers the meaning of his life.
His journey had its ups and downs, victories in competitions, and recognition from admirers, yet he never ceased his determined quest for his artistic path. In ancient times, "serdyuk" referred to professional infantrymen in the Cossack ranks. This heritage likely passed down not only the surname but also many Cossack traits to the artist, including hard work, modesty, and human dignity.
Boris Serdyuk creates in genres such as portrait, landscape, and thematic composition. His works are varied, reflecting the artist's impressions of the places he visited. Among them are picturesque corners of Kremenchuk and Dnipro views, urban and maritime landscapes, the grandeur of the Carpathian Mountains, and cozy Ukrainian villages. His canvases are intriguing in terms of color and relatively compositionally perfect, revealing the life of nature at the time of their execution.
There are also commissioned portraits and paintings, such as "Shevchenko in Baturyn." He spent over a year working on it, studying the architecture of the former hetman capital. However, the artist prefers to work swiftly, capturing the vision of a painting before it fades from his mind and before the sun changes its angle and shadows. On average, according to the artist, he spends about 40 minutes on a single landscape.
Boris successfully combines a poetic perception of the world and a deep understanding of nature with brilliant artistic execution. His paintings exude a special light and a delicate sense of nature – vivid colors on the canvas resonate with intermediate tones. The artist has abandoned contours, replacing them with separate and contrasting brushstrokes; his paintings amaze with colors, not only their diversity but also the amount of substance applied to the canvas – vibrant, vivid, voluminous.
Describing the master's works is a challenging task. Boris Serdyuk's works are special – they are painted with soul. One must see and feel the wonderful harmony of nature on the artist's canvases firsthand and touch the great mystery of Art.
