Description
Kotmin 70
"Guests from France" by Olga Artim features a vibrant and lively bouquet of red, pink, and white peonies, blooming against a soft, light blue background. The combination of warm and cool tones creates a harmonious yet dynamic composition, giving the flowers an air of elegance and charm reminiscent of French gardens. The artist likely wanted to convey a sense of joyful celebration and natural beauty, capturing the essence of spring and the arrival of something special. The title, "Guests from France," may hint at the influence of French art and culture on the artist, or the delicate sophistication often associated with French flowers. The detailed rendering of each bloom, with its subtle shadows and highlights, demonstrates the artist's love for floral compositions while evoking feelings of lightness, freshness, and graceful beauty.
Presentation
Born on July 23, 1965, in the city of Nikolaev.
Studied: She studied at a children's music school, and then transferred to a children's art school. After graduating from school, she entered the Odessa State Art School named after M. Grekov (painting), which she graduated in 1985 with honors. She studied at the Lviv Ukrainian Polygraphic Institute named after I. Fedorov (graphics), which she graduated in 1993. Not stopping there, she studied in the workshop of the People's Artist of Ukraine M. O. Ryasnyansky. She began her creative activity in 1993. She works in oil painting.
Member of the youth association at the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1993).
Works as an artist of the Nikolaev art-production plant (since 1985). Main works: triptych "Spring Dreams" (1993); “Pink Dream", “Three Graces" (both - 1994); “Poppies of Chernobyl" (1995); “Olbia", “Forest Gifts", “Leda" (all - 1997); “Sweet-voiced sirens", “The Legend of Phaeton" (both - 1998); “Red viburnum", “Mountain ash by the window", “Amsterdam tulips" (all - 1999).
The artist has more than 40 exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad, including 10 personal ones. Her works are in private collections in Japan, the USA, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Russia and Ukraine.
Perceiving the world around her with love, everything that surrounds her, she recreates it with reverent tenderness in her paintings. Different in form and color scheme, they amaze with the author's ability to see beauty in all manifestations of life, to notice the beautiful in a child's smile, the gray head of a veteran. In still lifes, various manifestations of flowers are felt - brightness, variety of colors, sophisticated aroma.
The portrait genre occupies a large place in the author's work. All portrait and still life paintings are painted from nature. The characters, their costumes, and entourage are the author's ideas; he always creates clothes for the "models" with his own hands.
