Description
This artwork illustrates a complex and harmonious geometric composition. At the center, multicolored concentric squares interpenetrate, creating a fascinating visual depth. Each is arranged to draw the eye toward the center, where a subtle transition between shades of blue and purple unfolds. Transparent overlays add a dimension of translucency, lending a lightness to the work despite the apparent solidity of the forms. The additions of soft pastel colors in the background balance the composition, bringing a serenity contrasting with the vibrant energy of the center. This interplay of precise colors and interlocking shapes demonstrates technical mastery and a bold exploration of abstraction.
Presentation
Jean-Claude Astori experiments with the figurative style, but has put down roots in abstraction "I treat the canvas as a field or a stage where strokes, colors and forms play an important role. These are the actors which put up a show", explains the artist. He draws inspiration from these rigorous forms and lines, like one can notice in the minimalist current, especially through the supremacist dynamic of Malevitch. Studying Cézanne, Robert Delaunay, Robert Natkin and Maurice Estève has been key for Atzori's artistic path. However, he doesn't give special importance to geometry, as it's only the outline. The artist then provides the movement, which becomes inspires life into the painting. An almost spiritual dimension, which is a very important aspect for the painter.
Jean-Claude Atzori's work is regularly exhibited in France during personal and collective exhibitions.
