The Oil painting on Cardboard titled "The youth of nature" invites viewers into a vivid forest scene bursting with vitality and movement. The artist captures a moment of pure, sun-drenched energy, where the natural world radiates the vibrant freshness of early summer. The composition leads the eye along a soft forest path, dappled with sunlight filtering through an exuberant canopy of leaves. Each tree appears animated with life, their trunks rising confidently from the ground, painted with bold, expressive strokes that convey both strength and grace. This landscape is alive with shades of green, from cool emerald to radiant lime, each hue layered and textured with a palette knife technique that enhances the physical presence of the paint. The foliage seems to dance in the light, echoing the youthful theme in the title. The play of light and shadow is especially striking, as the illuminated leaves contrast with the deeper, cooler tones of the shaded ground and the darker upper canopy. These contrasts create a dynamic rhythm that pulses through the forest, making the viewer feel as though they are walking through it, surrounded by the rustling of leaves and the scent of grass and earth. The composition is carefully balanced, with trees forming vertical lines that are broken and softened by the curves of the path and the undulating landscape. The viewer's gaze is guided forward into the heart of the forest, toward a soft, distant glow suggesting water or open space beyond the trees. This sense of depth and openness gives the painting an inviting quality, suggesting both physical and emotional exploration. The brushstrokes are unapologetically bold and textured, lending the painting an impasto richness that enhances its emotional impact. The use of thick, confident applications of paint reinforces the impression of nature in its prime—untouched, unspoiled, and filled with potential. The scene resonates with the joy of discovery and the peacefulness of being immersed in the natural world.

Works by Boris Serdyuk are held in museums in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, European countries, the USA, Israel, and other countries.
In 2018, the artist entered the global art space of the creative platform in New York, where seven of his works were included in the catalog "Painting & Graphics."
Currently lives and works in Kremenchuk, Poltava Region.
Took his first steps in the world of visual arts within the walls of his local school, then studied at Yuriev-Polsky Pedagogical School. After graduation, he returned to his homeland and started working as a drawing and painting teacher.
Later, he realized that for an artist, creative freedom is essential. Thus, after seventeen years of teaching, he left the profession to focus on his creative work. The artist is content to have the opportunity to engage in his beloved craft, which he considers the meaning of his life.
His journey had its ups and downs, victories in competitions, and recognition from admirers, yet he never ceased his determined quest for his artistic path. In ancient times, "serdyuk" referred to professional infantrymen in the Cossack ranks. This heritage likely passed down not only the surname but also many Cossack traits to the artist, including hard work, modesty, and human dignity.
Boris Serdyuk creates in genres such as portrait, landscape, and thematic composition. His works are varied, reflecting the artist's impressions of the places he visited. Among them are picturesque corners of Kremenchuk and Dnipro views, urban and maritime landscapes, the grandeur of the Carpathian Mountains, and cozy Ukrainian villages. His canvases are intriguing in terms of color and relatively compositionally perfect, revealing the life of nature at the time of their execution.
There are also commissioned portraits and paintings, such as "Shevchenko in Baturyn." He spent over a year working on it, studying the architecture of the former hetman capital. However, the artist prefers to work swiftly, capturing the vision of a painting before it fades from his mind and before the sun changes its angle and shadows. On average, according to the artist, he spends about 40 minutes on a single landscape.
Boris successfully combines a poetic perception of the world and a deep understanding of nature with brilliant artistic execution. His paintings exude a special light and a delicate sense of nature – vivid colors on the canvas resonate with intermediate tones. The artist has abandoned contours, replacing them with separate and contrasting brushstrokes; his paintings amaze with colors, not only their diversity but also the amount of substance applied to the canvas – vibrant, vivid, voluminous.
Describing the master's works is a challenging task. Boris Serdyuk's works are special – they are painted with soul. One must see and feel the wonderful harmony of nature on the artist's canvases firsthand and touch the great mystery of Art.
