The Oil painting Cardboard titled "Boats on the river bank" captures the calm rhythm of life near the water, where time seems to slow down and every detail of the scene is touched by a sense of quiet reflection. The artist composes a view of a weathered wooden pier extending into the wide expanse of the river, with small boats scattered along its length, rocking gently on the water's surface. In the foreground, another boat rests against the bank, tethered lightly as though it could drift away at any moment, its interior painted with thoughtful strokes that suggest the presence of oars or fishing gear. The wooden planks of the pier are depicted with earthy tones of ochre, sienna, and deep brown, their uneven lines and rough textures revealing years of use and countless footsteps that have crossed over them. The water dominates the composition, its surface rendered in layered shades of blue, gray, and soft greens. The artist uses swift, fluid brushstrokes to evoke the shimmering, ever-moving quality of the river, with reflections and ripples catching the light. Near the shore, the water takes on a translucent quality, revealing stones and patches of green algae below, a subtle reminder of the life that thrives beneath the surface. The painter contrasts the cooler tones of the water with the warmer hues of the sandy, rocky shoreline, where splashes of ochre, red, and gold add richness and balance to the palette. This interplay of warm and cool colors creates a dynamic yet harmonious visual rhythm. In the distance, three small figures walk along the pier, their presence adding scale and a touch of narrative to the scene. Dressed in bright, sunlit colors, they appear relaxed and unhurried, embodying the leisurely pace of riverside life. Their placement near the center of the composition draws the viewer's gaze outward, encouraging an exploration of the wide river that stretches toward the horizon. Beyond them, faint silhouettes of distant hills and mountains rise against the horizon, painted in soft blue and violet tones that suggest atmospheric depth. The sky above is filled with sweeping clouds, painted in cool grays, whites, and touches of turquoise, their movement mirroring the flow of the river below.
