Description
This captivating work depicts a vibrant nighttime urban scene, illuminated by the bright neon lights of Tokyo. The signs, in shades of yellow, red, and white, stand out sharply against a dark background, creating a striking contrast. The eye is drawn to the abundance of lights and colors that animate the composition, evoking the dynamic atmosphere of a bustling metropolis. The anonymous silhouettes of the buildings blend into the darkness, while the neon lights add a futuristic, almost cinematic touch. The artist succeeds in capturing the essence of a city in perpetual motion, where technology and modernity meet tradition and history.
Mixed media, acrylic, varnish, carborundum on photo taken by the artist during his travels.
Signed at the bottom right, titled Tokyo at the bottom left.
Mounted on Dibbon.
Presentation
An artist who is recognized for his new French abstraction, a traveler, a painter, a poet and a photographer, he tried to be "in harmony with our time and space'. Tony Soulié traveled around the world and adapted to suit.
"My work is urgent".
He combined life and painting. His travels took him to extreme regions: deserts, volcanoes, sea shores but also megalopolis where he got to meet "the limit states of the world".
He photographes, paints and sows ephemeral installations which highlight our fragility before strength and the longevity of elements.
His mixed works now have photography as their base, on which his brush outlines the bearings of his wanderings.
He is as present in public collections like the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris or the Villette, as he is in several corporate collections.
