Description
“Velvet Horizon" — a contemporary abstract painting from the "Inner Landscape" series. Created with acrylic and texture paste on stretched linen canvas. The work is built on a soft transition of tones: from warm light beige in the lower area to deep grey-violet and misty lavender hues in the upper layer.
A saturated strip of magenta and purplish red becomes the emotional core of the composition — like a sudden pulse of feeling emerging within a calm space. Textured areas add depth and merge the colors into a unified meditative flow. The painting evokes quiet contemplation, inner movement, and the gentle light appearing at the boundary between day and night.
The piece fits perfectly into modern interiors, especially bright, minimalist, or tranquil spaces.
Presentation
Helen Zuskina was born in 1974 in Ukraine. A contemporary self-taught artist working in an abstract style. She lives and works in Kharkiv, Ukraine.
She began her active artistic career in the summer of 2025, fully dedicating herself to painting. Since then, she has been painting every day, experimenting with colors and textures. She works in mixed media, using both artistic and various other materials.
She prefers large-format canvases that allow for free improvisation and deep immersion. However, her smaller works retain the same expressiveness and attention to detail.
In 2025, she joined the International Association of Online Artists “AGOP." She is currently preparing a series of small-format works and has submitted some of them to participate in the group exhibition Kaleidoscope October 31 – November 2, 2025, at K13 Art Gallery L. Koidula 13A, Tallinn, Estonia.
Her upcoming plans include a series of large-format paintings, the creation of a personal website, and participation in international exhibitions and art fairs.
