Description

The work was painted during the artist's participation in an international plein air organized by the Odessa branch of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine at the Black Sea–Bugaz Hotel. The painting depicts a traditional Black Sea rural courtyard in the village of Roksolany: a house with a protruding porch extension and green window frames, a round well beside the house, bright chrysanthemums in bloom, and a vineyard turning yellow. In the background, a panoramic view of the liman unfolds. The scene is set on a cloudy day. The palette is subdued yet harmonious. Overall, the painting conveys a sense of quiet melancholy.
