Description
This abstract composition unfolds in a solar and dense yellow.
The artist works the material with precision. The canvas is divided into two complementary panels.
The first panel stretches vertically. Fine and discreet lines suggest an upward movement.
The second panel favors horizontality. Long dark strokes cross the surface like distant horizons.
The oil is applied in subtle layers. The rendering creates a play of textures where light seems to be absorbed and then returned.
The balance between geometric rigor and organic fluidity guides the eye.
This work from 2001 explores the tension between axes and directions.
The contrast between the smooth areas and the striated areas brings a tactile depth to the whole.
The monochrome palette emphasizes the purity of the technical gesture.
The work is based on oil paint on canvas.
