Description
The artist painted this sketch Alla prima from plain air while outdoors in the village of Bali on the island of Crete in Greece.
This artwork, a serene seascape, masterfully captures the tranquil essence of a coastal scene. The composition features a gentle horizon where the azure sea meets the sky. Distant, undulating hills create a harmonious balance, reflecting soft blue and green hues that evoke a sense of calm and depth. In the foreground, delicate brushstrokes depict a small dock with boats quietly resting, inviting the viewer's imagination to journey across the silent waters. Subtle light plays across the scene, illustrating the artist's skillful use of natural illumination to enrich the painting's atmosphere. The framed piece is meticulously presented, with a plaque suggesting its distinguished place in a collection. This painting uniquely blends impressionistic techniques with a realistic portrayal, offering an immersive experience that transcends the ordinary.
