Description

Jiratchaya Pripwai transports us to a universe where emotions unfold through lines, colors, and abstract forms, creating an intense visual poetry. His works, born from an intimate creative process, transform his memories and emotions into a unique and moving pictorial language.

Jiratchaya uses frames and colors to unleash complex emotions, recording traces of his experiences without seeking to fix the final result. This approach reflects a worldview where emotion is in perpetual motion, oscillating between memory and forgetting.

In her creations, she questions the very nature of memory, seeking to capture those fleeting moments while reinterpreting them in a new and soothing form. The artist thus creates compositions that are fragments of an inner dialogue, offering the viewer a glimpse into her emotional world. Her work proves therapeutic, allowing her to channel and sublimate her emotions.

Presentation

Jiratchaya Pripwai was born in 1983 in Kalasin, Thailand, and moved to Chiang Mai when she was four years old.

She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Chiang Mai University and a Master of Painting degree from Silpakorn University, Thailand. She participated in artist residencies at the Thaillywood Foundation in Thailand in 2014 and in La Rochelle at the Intermondes Center in 2015. She won the first prize at the 10th Panasonic Contemporary Painting Exhibition in Thailand in 2008 and was awarded the scholarship of General Tinsulanonda, a Thai statesman. She was also awarded a bronze medal at the 56th National Art Exhibition in Thailand in 2010.
Jiratchaya's artistic skills are expressed in series of monochrome drawings of intertwined lines. In his creations using acrylic on canvas, Jiratchaya Pripwai remains faithful to his technique where the line gives way to the brushstroke emphasizing the inner perspective and depth of a meditative state.

Jiratchaya's works have been presented at numerous local and international art events including, Between Remembering and Forgetting, Numthong Art Space, Bangkok (2024), Recent works, SAC Gallery, Bangkok (2023); Bleus Pluriels, galerie arnaud Lebecq (2022) Resonnances and memories, Numthong Art Space, Bangkok (2020); Transience and Transformation, A+ WORKS of ART, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Dare you do this, Sun-wood Warehouse, Kaohsiung, Taiwan (2019); Light of the East, Bourgogne Tribal show, Bonnay, France (2018); Géodésie, l'impossible courbe, Galerie Odile Ouizeman, Paris (2015); 10th Thai Art Exhibition 2014, Royal Consulate General of Thailand, Los Angeles (2014).
