Description
This artwork is an abstract painting that captures the essence of meditative tranquility through the bold use of color and texture. The composition is dominated by a broad horizontal band of green, evoking a calm sea or a serene sky. Below, a diffuse ochre hue blends into the canvas, creating an effect of depth and mystery. The pure white lower section contrasts with the upper, bringing a clarity and lightness that balance the composition. The textured surface gives the impression that the colors are emerging from the canvas itself, adding a tactile dimension to the work. This unique piece invites the viewer to contemplation, encouraging them to explore the emotions and narratives hidden within its subtle layers. It is a powerful testament to minimal expression and the beauty of visual silence.
Presentation
Born in Basel, Barbara graduated from HEAD (ESAV), Geneva, held group and solo exhibitions in Switzerland and France before embarking on a long journey through Africa, Asia and Europe.
A pivotal experience for her artistic and personal development. Her works are featured in several private collections. She then deepened her research through philosophy, Jungian psychotherapy, and meditation.
Returning to Switzerland in 2011, she continues a practice that combines artistic work, inner exploration, and teaching meditation. Influenced by Kiefer, Richter, Tàpies, and American abstract expressionism, post-minimalism, and arte povera, her painting is rooted in a performative process akin to ritual.
Her work unfolds like an act, where gesture and materials translate an energy in transformation. Her works allow rhythms and tensions to emerge in a dynamic that fully engages the body and consciousness.
