A lyrical abstraction shimmers with energy and reverie in this richly worked painting. Vlas Ayvazyan layers gestural black lines, scribbled circles, and bursts of red, yellow, and teal across a soft, scumbled ground of silvery greys and greens. Forms emerge and dissolve — a curl of hair, a half-seen face, a dreaming figure surfacing from the swirl of marks — like fragments of thought drifting through a daydream. The spontaneous calligraphic strokes and textured impasto give the surface a vibrant, improvisational rhythm, balancing chaos and grace. Poetic and free, the work captures the elusive inner world of imagination, where memory, feeling, and fantasy intertwine in a quiet, colorful dream.
