Description
Two female figures intertwine in a moment of absolute tenderness and eroticism. The line, precise and controlled in pastel, emphasizes the softness of the curves and the tension of the naked bodies. The drawing plays with shades of gray and white to sculpt the light on the skin with infinite delicacy.
The almost monochrome side concentrates attention on the composition and the carnal intensity of the scene. The technical rendering brings a striking relief to the anatomical forms: the women's breasts, the shoulders, the hips gleam in the light. Every shadow is worked to create a natural depth. The whole exudes a deep sensuality and striking visual harmony.
Verssan made the choice of textured paper to enhance the organic and vibrant aspect of the scene. The contrast between the light areas and the dark areas animates the surface.
Presentation
Verssan is a French pastel artist.
Inspired by major figures such as Ernest Pignon-Ernest, Pierre Soulages and Francis Bacon, Verssan explores the human form through a distinctive figurative style. His preferred medium is pastel on paper, which he uses to create works imbued with sensuality and eroticism.
Verssan plays with curves, voids and solids, shadows and lights. His technique consists of rubbing, blurring and blowing the material onto the paper, creating compositions where the shades of color interact with the hue of the support, often in tones of warm gray.
Verssan's works reveal bodies imbued with softness and delicacy, while manifesting an underlying strength and virility. His subjects are treated with a unique sensitivity. Verssan's art does not simply represent the human body, he seeks to capture and express the emotions and nuances of the human condition through his captivating pastels.
