From the deck of a moving boat you look back at the water. The wake is still there — the trace of where you have already been, silver over dark, holding its shape for a moment and then widening, softening, changing as the distance grows. It never quite disappears. It becomes something else.

That is what this work holds: time that has already passed. The further you move from it, the more its form and its meaning change — and still it stays with you, kept as the memory of something gone for good.

Vestige is a diptych of two vertical panels — one more restless, one more still. They were built layer over layer in acrylic: pearlescent white, silver, bronze and Prussian blue, each colour allowed to find its own path across the canvas rather than being placed. The surface changes with the hour — cool and mineral by day, deep and metallic under evening light — so the work is never quite the same twice.

The two panels 150-50 each live independently and together: sold as a diptych, or apart, as two works that remember each other.

Vestige means the trace — what remains after the thing itself has gone.

Turik & Art is the studio of European artist Kseniia Turik, based between Paris and Marbella, working in acrylic, epoxy resin and lacquer on large formats for private residences.
