In this circular painting, Shay Kun offers a fresh and unexpected view of New York City. Above the towering skyscrapers, colorful hot-air balloons drift effortlessly through the sky, inviting us to escape the fast pace of city life, if only for a moment.
I love the contrast between the grandeur of the city and the lightness of the balloons, bringing a sense of color, freedom and wonder to this iconic urban landscape. The circular format adds a unique touch, almost like a window opening onto a dreamlike world where reality and imagination meet.

Shay Kun is an Israeli painter, born in 1974.
He currently lives and works in New York.
Shay Kun graduated from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Fine Arts in Jerusalem in 1998, and Goldsmith College in London in 2000.
Shay Kun's paintings are known for their surprisingly realistic aspect, strongly inspired by photo shots, the artist does oil painting, which belongs to the hyper-realism current, where he gives a lot of importance to detail and the end result is just impressive.
Landscape, with a close up on a branch, windows covered with raindrops, Shay Kun's paintings encourages the spectator to question his relationship with images and reality. He portrays mankind as intruders in his painting, as they damage nature.
He currently lives and works in New York.
