Virgin Mary's Prayer, 2024

Nataliia Moisak

Some paintings are created to decorate a home. Others are created to carry hope.
"Virgin Mary's Prayer" was inspired by the difficult years of war in my homeland, Ukraine. During a time filled with uncertainty, loss, and constant prayer for loved ones, I turned to painting as a way to express faith, find inner peace, and hold on to hope. This artwork reflects that deeply personal journey.
The Virgin Mary is portrayed in silent prayer against the backdrop of the heavenly universe, surrounded by radiant stars, celestial light, and the infinite beauty of creation. Her peaceful expression symbolizes compassion, mercy, and unwavering faith. The golden light embracing her represents God's love and protection, while the endless universe reminds us that even in our darkest moments, we are never alone.
Painted entirely by hand with professional oil paints on stretched canvas, this is an authentic one-of-a-kind artwork. Every brushstroke was created with care, prayer, and attention to detail, making it impossible to reproduce.
