Description
The painting depicts a broad river landscape from a bird's-eye view. The calm water spreads out in light, almost pearly planes, among which shallow channels and sandbars wind. The river forms whimsical spirals and bends that give the composition a sense of smooth movement.
In the foreground is a riverbank with bushes and trees painted in thick, raised strokes. The textured painting creates a sense of volume and living nature. On the right is the small figure of a person with a dog, adding intimacy and quiet to the landscape. Further to the left, two horses are grazing — warm reddish patches that contrast with the cool greenish-blue tones of the surroundings.
The coloring of the painting is restrained and pastel: soft shades of beige, pinkish gray, blue and green create the atmosphere of morning or evening light. The whole scene breathes calm, space and the meditative silence of the Ukrainian steppe landscape.
