Description
The canvas depicts the Seine in springtime. Delicate, light shades dominate the work: blues, pinks, greens and golds. The artist conveys the movement of the water, the reflection of the sky and nature awakening.
In the foreground are trees with young foliage, their branches bending toward the water. In the distance, the haze of the horizon and the reflection of clouds in the river can be made out. The painting is filled with air, sunlight and a sense of lightness, which is characteristic of Impressionism.
