Description
This is an artwork executed in an Impressionist style. It depicts the old European city of Paris, with architecture reminiscent of Baroque and Classical buildings.
The palette is soft and pastel, dominated by shades of pink, lilac, gray and cream. The paint is applied in thick strokes that create a relief-like, textured surface.
The buildings have arched windows, turrets and domes, which lend the scene a sense of antiquity and romance. In the foreground several small figures of people can be seen strolling by the facades.
Overall, the painting conveys the calm, slightly dreamy atmosphere of an old city in mist or in soft evening light.
