Description
n , Eric Alfaro turns a water lily pond into an immersive field of colour and texture. Thick, sculptural impasto builds up the lily pads in layered greens, from deep emerald to bright acid yellow. Clusters of pink, coral and crimson blossoms rise from the surface in bold, palette-knife strokes. Below them, the water appears in cool blues, violets and near-blacks, with drips and fine scratched lines that suggest reflections and movement on the surface.
The composition draws on the long tradition of the water garden in painting, but the energy is contemporary. The paint is applied with great physical intensity, and the surface changes as the viewer moves around it. Light catches the ridges of the flowers and leaves, giving the work a strong three-dimensional presence that is best appreciated in person.
At 130 × 97 cm, the canvas is large enough to read as an immersive view. It suits a living room, an entrance hall or a collector’s wall where it can be lit to show off the texture. The work is presented in a natural wood floater frame that leaves the edges of the canvas visible and is ready to hang.

Presentation
Eric Alfaro is a Cuban artist based in the United States whose paintings have been exhibited and collected internationally. Primarily known for his prolific portraiture, Eric Alfaro dives into human sensibilities through tender, intentional motions that ultimately reveal realistic paintings.
His technical mastery and keen-sightedness capture true gesture; a personal seal that despite being figurative, does not lack space and sense. Alfaro is quickly gaining reputation as the Modern-Day Monet; transforming oil paint with his spatula into unforgettable imagery.
Not only does the sensational impasto texture lure curiosity, but his marriage of color and contrast creates a profound perception of dimension.
