Goldorak Artworks
Goldorak, known internationally as Grendizer, is a character created by manga artist Go Nagai. He is the hero of a landmark Japanese animated series from the 1970s. Belonging to the mecha genre—focused on giant robots—the series is part of a broader universe developed by its creator.
Following its success, Goldorak sits within a continuity of works that also includes Great Mazinger, which helped establish this now-iconic universe. Broadcast in France from the late 1970s, the series became a massive hit and a true generational phenomenon.
Go Nagai's giant robots have left a lasting mark on popular culture, and the work continues to inspire a powerful sense of nostalgia today.
In this spirit, many contemporary artists still draw inspiration from it. On Artsper, artworks reinterpreting Goldorak extend this legacy through modern visual approaches. Artists such as Ian Philip, Vincent Sabatier, and Spaco—figures of pop-culture-inspired art—offer their own vision of this universe. Discover their works, along with those of other artists influenced by this timeless icon.
