Ricky Cohete   Emerging artists

Explore color in the dark, inspired by the Italian and Dutch renaissance. It brings allusions to the colorful and passionate wildlife of South America. By bringing them into this dark space, he hopes to ignite the imagination of the world that surrounds his subjects in the images. Like a dream in the landscapes of classic renaissance paintings. The artist uses vivid color contrast to add an extra dimension to the movement and shadows of each piece. Almost giving a glimpse, apart from the nostalgia, of its -blacks & whites- and sepias. Evoking a feeling of freedom and liberation.

This artwork is a striking exploration of light and shadow, capturing the sensuous curves of a human back against a deep, velvety black background. The subject is turned away, holding a cluster of rich, red grapes against their shoulder, which adds an element of classical elegance and mystery. The grapes' vibrant color contrasts starkly with the subject's skin, drawing immediate attention. On the right, a sharp, green leaf intersects the composition, introducing an organic element that enhances the interplay of natural forms. The lighting is meticulously controlled, highlighting muscle definition and creating a dramatic, almost theatrical atmosphere. This composition cleverly balances sensuality and simplicity, inviting viewers to ponder the narrative behind the image. The artwork’s minimalistic yet powerful approach creates an emotional depth, encouraging a dialogue between nature, human form, and the viewer's imagination.
