Description
"Wild rebirth in Screw York" is a four-image photographic series that tells a cycle: that of a city confronted with its own destruction, then with its rebirth.
It all begins in a peaceful atmosphere, under a blue moon. Then comes the eclipse: the city plunges into shadow and the threat takes hold. The third image marks the rupture: human intervention comes to break the balance and leaves the city in ruins. In the last photograph, nature gradually reclaims its rights: flowers and plants invest the still standing structures and a new balance appears.
Through this metamorphosis, it questions our relationship to change, to the balance between man and his environment, and to the world's capacity to be reborn after chaos.
"Wild rebirth in Screw York" closes the series. After the destruction, life reappears and unfolds among the remains of the city. Nature reclaims its place without totally erasing what was there before it. A new balance is established, fragile but possible: that of a coexistence between man and nature.
Presentation
Mélina Delbert is a French photographer whose work explores reality by playing with its displacements, ambiguities, and poetic part.
Her photography navigates between staged compositions, landscapes, the animal world, and scenes captured in public spaces. Rather than sticking to a single genre, she builds series in which the image becomes the starting point for a story, an emotion, or a question.
Her work gives important place to détournement and double reading. An ordinary object can become a landscape, a daily scene can take on an absurd or poetic dimension, while nature and the animal world become the support for more intimate emotions.
With Screw York, she builds an imaginary city from industrial objects and tells, in four photographs, a cycle of imbalance, destruction, and rebirth. The series questions the place of man in his environment and the possibility of a new balance after the chaos.
Her work has been presented in several exhibitions and distinguished in international photography competitions.
