Description
The art of stoneware is expressed here through a minimalist approach. Two aquatic silhouettes face each other. Their simplified forms evoke softness and complicity.
The Raku technique marks the material. It creates shades of deep blue and irregular textures. This process, based on thermal shock, leaves a singular imprint on the surface.
The couple and the social bond are invited into this marine bestiary. Each piece becomes the witness of a meeting.
The composition rests on a dark and rectilinear base. This stable base contrasts with the lightness of the fish. Fine metal rods support the sculptures.
The whole plays on balance and sobriety. The eye is drawn to the finesse of the details, such as the small pearl eyes. The work is defined by a figurative and streamlined aesthetic.
Presentation
Passionate about the arts, I began by painting, then I discovered 'THE EARTH' and all the richness and beauty it has to offer.
Water, earth and fire – three elements essential to life – fascinate me.
My current work focuses on couples, family, friends and femininity, using Raku techniques and the ultimate test of fire. I try to convey a message or symbolism: surprises, joys and, sometimes, disappointments right up to the last minute. I trained at the Douai School of Art.
I run an 'Expression terre' workshop and a 'Children's' workshop in Templeuve-en-Pévéle, as sharing is very important to me.
