Presentation

Stefaan was born in Kuurne (Belgium) on 02/24/1959. Years ago he became a victim of the performance society (exhausted) and he kept himself a bit on the sidelines. He found the healing power in music, but at the same time he discovered art painting.

After a few years of experimentation in the "mixed media" artistic style (Passchendaele period), he began to look for new possibilities -action painting-. Now, he paints in his English cottage which is located in the garden of his house so that he can express his artistic talents at any time.

Its drops and reliefs recall the works of Jackson Pollock. But where Pollock's work seems more chaotic and rather dark, Stefaan's is lighter and also warmer. As if he could force his reality into a manageable and understandable pattern with a gesture painting technique.

These last works are of a different nature. A different color palette, a different form of expression and man is now emerging as a theme. Her daughter's heads in many different colors became the hallmark of her new works.

However, he regularly returns to action painting and he says about it: The canvas is on the ground, you are working on it and you are, so to speak, sucked into the painting. My paintings are a physical expression of my inner state.
