Biography
Vebeca was born in Perpignan in 1970.
From a very young age, she already mastered the techniques of painting and drawing.
She was spotted as a prodigy and at the age of 6 she won the first national drawing prize at primary school! It was said of her, "she paints like an adult! She draws her inspiration from the magnificent landscapes of Roussillon which have inspired many painters.
Until today, Vebeca will never stop cultivating this secret garden of colours and spirituality.
The year 2020 marks a turning point for her. The long period of confinement due to the pandemic was a time of introspection for her, a time of distancing herself from her artistic practice, her sources of inspiration, her perception of what surrounds her.
This resulted in a "letting go", with a change in her technique and the medium of the work.
A return to the basics, in a way, with the practice of drawing, based in the first phase of creation, on a form of "automatic" freehand drawing.
It is only afterwards that a whole universe emerges under the lines of the acrylic markers.
